#911: Man Plans ‘9/11 Redux to Prove Conspiracy Theories’ By Crashing Plane Into Old Building

Depending upon how you look at it, the idea is either bold or insane.

But it is sure to draw plenty of attention.

An American expat living in Thailand is hoping to raise enough money to purchase an old jet and an old building in the countryside in effort to recreate the attacks of 9/11 on the Twin Towers.

Though he says he isn’t a conspiracy theorist, Paul Salo is hoping to use this ‘9/11 redux’ demonstration to lend credence to those who say the impact of a plane crash wasn’t enough to cause the collapses seen on September 11… or to disprove those ideas once and for all.

The Daily Mail reports:

An American expat who lives in Thailand is raising money to recreate the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center in an effort to prove conspiracy theories right or wrong.

The American entrepreneur, who has lived in Asia since 1989, added that he thinks his reconstruction will find that there was ‘similar physics’ that caused the twin towers in New York to collapse.

In the video to promote the ‘reconstruction’ of the tragic day, Salo said: ‘If you doubt anything about 9/11 we want to blast this to smithereens or we want to prove you completely right.’

‘We’re going to purchase a 747 or equivalent aircraft that’s about to go out of service, we’re going to fill it full of jet fuel, we’re going to purchase a building that’s about to be torn down in the countryside … and we’re going to crash it at 500 miles per hour into that building,’ he says in the video.

‘If there’s just a smoking hole in the building and nothing happens, you pretty much know it was a hoax, right? Cause it’s obvious, right?

Here’s his video explaining the project:

Through a Facebook page titled ‘9/11 Redux,’ Paul Salo hopes to raise between $300,000 and $1.5 million through crowd funding in order to buy the used plane, the building and pay for the crew necessary to oversee the project and verify the specs and assess the ‘similar structure’ of the building he would use.

Crowfunding project: We will autopilot fly a fully loaded 767 or equivalent aircraft into the closest building we can find in structure to the WTC. A force for truth when there are no other options. The gov won’t do it. Companies won’t do it. Individuals can’t do it. We do it. Join us.

The entire event would be filmed from multiple angles, and the plane’s black box would provide data about what took place in the staged crash. With the aid of experts and building inspectors, he aims to make the event as similar as possible to the original… without, of course, any people in harm’s way.

Salo claims that he has been in early talks with the Thai military and that he isn’t pushing any one side of the contentious debate about what really happened on 9/11 that continues to stir controversy and deep-seated feelings about a government conspiracy.

Salo writes on Facebook: “We don’t have a fixed mindset: Open for any truth that will come through these activities.”

Those who have questioned the truth about 9/11 have pointed to statements by the engineers and architects of the actual World Trade Center who suggest that jet fuel could not have caused the collapse of the buiding’s heavily reinforced steel column structure.

Numerous groups, including Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth, have challenged the official version of events and sought to disprove the government narrative.

Paul Salo, however, does not claim to be affiliated with any of these people… he just wants to stage the crash to add first hand example to the ongoing debate on all sides.

The technical differences between the enormous skyscrapers that once stood in lower Manhattan and the kind of old building that can be bought up may be significant, but there is no doubt that the gutsy crowdfunding project would be an interesting addition to the debate.

Global Catastrophe Imminent: “Asteroids, Robots and Engineered Viruses Will Kill Millions”

There is yet more confirmation that near-certain doom is headed for planet earth, and could kill or disrupt the lives of everyone on the planet.

And there’s reason to think it could be in our lifetimes.

A study commissioned by Oxford University identified possibly-imminent catastrophe from asteroids, AI, volcanoes, nukes/EMP or manufactured/weaponized disease sweeping the planet.

And yet we’re the conspiracy theorists…

According to the Daily Mail/Press Association:

In the next five years asteroids, super volcanic eruptions and unknown risks are ranked as the biggest threat to humanity.[…]

It may sound like the stuff of sci-fi films, but experts said these apocalyptic threats are more likely than many realise…

In the longer term, the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) has been listed alongside catastrophic climate change, nuclear war and pandemics as a threat to humanity.

The biggest long term threat to civilization is natural and engineered pandemics and nuclear war […] the rise of synthetic biology could open the door to the creation of “off the shelf” deadly viruses.

The report, which focuses on global approaches to address these looming dangers, and a worldwide integration of efforts, reminds us that we are all too mortal, and that devastating pandemics have indeed occurred throughout history:

It warns that while most generations never experience a catastrophe, they are far from fanciful, as the bouts of plague and the 1918 Spanish flu that wiped out millions illustrated.

There is no way of knowing what kind disaster could befall the planet, but it is important to prepare for the worst at a personal and local level. Chances are, you’ll be far more effective that way.

Despite the focus on global talk, there is little chance that a bigger and bigger governing structure could protect us all, or come to the rescue when you need it most.

When seconds count, police are minutes away, and the federal/international authorities are days or weeks away. They are only there to clean up the mess when it’s over and seize power.

Indeed, it seems that civilization is all-too-vulnerable, and millions of lives hang in the balance. Don’t be complacent, don’t rely on big cities and trust only those who you know and can rely upon.

Report: #Cyber Attackers Infect #Nuclear Power Plant Systems With Computer Virus

The threat of a large-scale terrorist attack caused by chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear weapons of mass destruction has been at the forefront of investigations in recent months, so much so that in March the White House issued a warning highlighting the four most likely scenarios for a nuclear attack on U.S. soil.

Following the attack in Brussels earlier this year it was learned that terrorists had not only targeted nuclear facilities in Belgium, but that the chief of the power plant in question had been staked out, recorded and followed. A security guard at the nuclear plant also died under mysterious circumstances.

Now, according to a report from Zero Hedge, another nuclear plant has been targeted, this time with a virus that has infected its computer systems:

Remember when “someone” used the Stuxnet virus, or rather worm, in an Iranian nuclear plant several years ago to freeze Iranian nuclear production, leading to a major diplomatic scandal involving the spy agencies of both the US and Israel, as the world learned that in the present day industrial sabotage only needed a flash drive and a computer virus to render even the most sophisticated piece of industrial machinery obsolete? Well, moments ago, Bloomberg reported that a computer virus was discovered in a German nuclear power plant.

A computer virus was discovered at the Gundremmingen nuclear power plant in Bavaria, German news service DPA reported.

No danger to employees or populace

Power plant noticed the virus in its Block B on Mon.

BR (google translated) is reporting that the malware is thought to be brought in by a data carrier, and the affected portion of the system is the fueld assembly loading area.

The affected IT system is part of the fuel assembly loading machine of the power plant. This raises, for example, old fuel from the reactor core and transports it to the storage pool. An influence on the control of these loading machine has the IT system according to the operator but not. In the power plant all other safety-related IT systems have been checked without finding the meantime.

The competent authority and the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) have been informed. The reconnaissance takes place with the assistance of IT specialists in the RWE Group. The malicious software may have been introduced by a data carrier.

Ironically, in the case of the Iran “infection”, one of the suspected parties was Germany’s own Siemens. It would be painfully ironic if the same someone had infected a Germany nuke at roughly the same time.

While the WMD threat once again appears to be centralized in Europe, the fact is that the United States has scores of power plants across the country and in all likelihood terrorists, whether middle eastern, state-sponsored, or rogue organizations, are actively looking for ways to cause maximum damage to American citizens.

An attack on a nuclear facility may be improbable, but it’s certainly a real and highly dangerous possibility that could leave tens of thousands of people dead and entire regions of the United States uninhabitable.

Moreover, the threat isn’t restricted to just to nuclear plants. With our porous southern border and no immigration control to speak of, those who mean to do us harm can easily cross into the United States, WMD in hand, to launch an attack on the American people.

In fact, in the summer of 2014 the Texas Rangers were dispatched to the southern border after nuclear materials that could be used in a dirty bomb attack were stolen in Mexico.

In 2011 it was reported that Customs and Border Protection had identified and seized a nuclear weapon of some kind as it was being smuggled into the United States.

The threat is most certainly real and as completely insane as it may sound, it’s only a matter of time before such a CBRN weapon is used in a large population center in the United States or Europe.

Perhaps it’s time Americans consider preparing for a nuclear attack:

Regardless of whether you decide to stay or bug out, there are a few items you should strongly consider adding to your prepping supplies. Aside from the usual stuff like food, water, tools, weapons, and medical supplies, you’ll probably need the following:

Gas mask with filter specifically designed for radioactive materials

Hand crank radio for weather reports

Geiger counter

Potassium iodide for thyroid health

Zeolite, bentonite clay, and activated charcoal for decontamination (buy food grade versions for detoxing the body)

Chlorella or spirulina for detoxing your body

You’ll find that everything on this list will also be useful for other scenarios like nuclear war and dirty bomb attacks. Truth be told there are countless ways that you or family could face a radioactive threat, but with the right mindset, gear, and supplies, you can survive even the worst nuclear disasters.

Are children safe in public schools?

If the answer seems pretty obvious, it is confirmation that society has definitely gone to extremes that would not have been recognizable in past decades of American history.

Now Denver-area schools are becoming the first to guard their student populations with military-style semiautomatic rifles, and things certainly appear to be escalating.

A suburban Denver school district is arming its security staff with military-style semiautomatic rifles in case of a school shooting or other violent attack, a move that appears unprecedented even as more schools arm employees in response to mass violence elsewhere.

The guards, who are not law enforcement officers, already carry handguns.

The move raised new questions about how far school officials should go in arming employees, a practice that has become standard in the aftermath of the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings.

One can only hope that these weapons would stop a shooter before they could hurt anyone, but there isn’t any guarantee.

Active shooters, mass killings and militarized police and security now haunt the halls where education and learning is supposed to be taking place. More children than ever before are on pharmaceutical medications, despite the known links to suicide and homicide. Between Common Core and politically-correct policies, these institutions are teaching that up-is-down, and down-is-up like never before.

One school in Florida even punished a 16-year old student for wrestling a gunman threatening other students to the ground and preventing a shooting. Active shooter and martial law drills have become commonplace, and many of them have been unannounced, causing terror and panic in students and teachers.

While most schools remain “gun-free zones” and have been reluctant to allow teachers to be armed in the case of the worst incidents, many have readily invested in armed security, surveillance technology and counter-terrorism approaches to “safety” in schools.

The result has been a heightened atmosphere that is increasingly paranoid, and ready to treat anyone and everyone as potential suspects – including children:

Ken Trump, a school safety consultant in Cleveland, said the Douglas County case may mark the first time a district has equipped its in-house security officers with semiautomatic rifles.

“Taking this step certainly ratchets up a notch the whole idea, the question of what’s reasonable, what’s necessary in terms of arming officers,” Trump said.

But are they being protected from potential violence, or indoctrinated in a police state society where even children are under sharp suspicion, and misbehavior is criminalized? Can we see down the road as to whether this is likely to tend towards more freedom, or less? More armed citizens is positive, but more guns only in the hands of police, but private and public, may prove not be.

Regardless, it is a precedent for the growing police state society that expects individuals to conform to the masses, and obey authorities at all costs. Michael Snyder argued that public schools are purposely preparing students to live in such a society:

Our children are the future of America, and our public schools are systematically training them to become accustomed to living in a “Big Brother” police state. All across the United States today, public schools have essentially become “prison grids” that are run by control freaks that are absolutely obsessed with micromanaging the lives of their students down to the smallest detail. As you will read about below, students all over the country are now being monitored by RFID microchips, their lunches are being inspected on a daily basis by school administrators, and the social media accounts of students are being constantly monitored even when they are at home.

[…] One thing that was unheard of back when I was in high school was “active shooter drills”. They are being held in school districts all over the nation today, and they often involve the firing of blanks and the use of fake blood.

In typical fashion, Snyder goes on to make a long list of bizarre school practices that will make your head spin, and are, frankly, teaching the future members of society how to become helpless slaves.

Everyone can see that there is a problem, but nobody seems to know the way to fix it.

Not Even Police Were Told About This “Active Shooter” Drill…

So secret that it’s for your safety…

It isn’t the first time that military, SWAT teams, FBI, police and Homeland Security officials have conducted large scale emergency exercises inside cities and frightened the locals.

Joint task force mock disasters, raids and response teams now routinely takeover local areas in order to prepare for martial law and a thorough police state, and people are often riled by the sounds of explosions, gunshots, helicopters and teams of men in black uniforms.

But this time, even the local police weren’t told about the drill taking place – even though it was happening within their own department.

As NBC reported:

Bystanders didn’t take long to call police last month when they spotted a couple of suspicious men skulking around a New Jersey train station taking photos of security cameras. Port Authority cops turned on lights and sirens and rushed to the scene in hour traffic.

But when they got there, the officers were shocked to find that the emergency they had rushed to was only a test. The suspicious men? Port Authority’s own security analysts.

According to an incident report obtained by the I-Team, the two men said they were “testing the system.” But what made this test different than the regular drills practiced is that none of the officers in the police department — not even the supervisors — knew it was a test. According to president of the Port Authority police union, the consequences could have been deadly.

The Port Authority spokesman … said it is customary not to tell officers about active shooter drills in the terminals.

Port Authority police in New Jersey were startled to respond to calls that led to an active shooter training scenario that ultimately involved their own security team running a “test.”

This video breaks down the possible implications of this unannounced test – which may seem paranoid to some, but it likely a routine part of managing crises in the public eye.

A “test” in order to keep the public “safe” from these and other threats.

But is it “safe” or is it just police state?

It seems even the police are questioning these eerie training scenarios which seem to foretell a future full of crisis events and greater government controls:

“It’s dangerous,” said Paul Nunziato, president of the Port Authority Police Benevolent Association. “What would this interview be right now if my guys hit somebody? What if some woman or a little child got killed?”

It’s not the only time Port Authority officials have conducted security drills that the police union says posed risks to their officers and the public. On the day of the recent terrorist attacks in Brussels, Port Authority conducted a nine-minute active shooter drill at JFK airport.

[Nunziato asked] “Would you scare the crap out of every person in that terminal with cops running in, lights and sirens, with heavy weapons, thinking something was going on.”

To make matters worse, history shows that many real life terror attacks took place during drills by government agencies, raising serious questions about the real motives and perpetrators behind some of the most well known events in recent history.

If the drill is that secret, what are they really hiding? And where is it that someone is planning to hit next?

How an #Attack on #America Would Probably Begin: Possible Courses Of Action By Foreign Military Powers

We’re going to take a look at a potential attack scenario against the United States. We’re going to analyze it strictly from a military-economic perspective and weigh possible courses of action by a foreign power or powers in an attack.

Firstly, it is my belief that there will be foreign powers involved, yet one will initiate the entire thing: North Korea. Let’s start up the scenario.

1. North Korea launches an EMP attack, via ICBM or satellite.

This will be the “kickoff,” and enable the game to begin. As of right now, the Chinese and Russians are already positioning themselves. The Chinese are moving naval assets into the South China Sea and also into the Pacific. The Russians are prepping their naval assets in the Med, the Atlantic, the Pacific, and in the Arctic region.

The EMP attack will effectively shut down the entire U.S. economy and infrastructure. Many non-hardened elements of the United States armed forces will suffer loss, and the response time for a conventional incursion will be drastically reduced.

2. Command and Control Areas of the Government, the Military, and the Economy will be nuked.

The most probable cities that will be taken out will be as follows:

(East Coast) – Washington, D.C., New York, NY, Baltimore, MD, Norfolk, VA, Philadelphia, PA, Dover, DE, and Sarasota, FL. This will effectively cripple 90% of all command and control by government and the economic hubs of the country. The latter city is home to Special Operations Command, SouthCom. Additional targets will be Ft. Meade, MD (home to the NSA), Ft. Bragg, NC (home to the 82^nd Airborne Division, and Special Operations Command), Camp Lejeune, NC and Virginia Beach (home to Seal Team 2).

(West Coast) – Seattle, WA, Portland, OR, San Francisco, CA, San Diego, CA. Strikes will also be conducted on Ft. Lewis, WA because of the Ranger and Special Forces unit & group there. The weapons will be airburst of fairly low-yield in the attempt to not irradiate with the prevailing westerly winds.

(Interior) – Denver, CO, and Ft. Carson, CO [the latter emphasized for Cheyenne Mountain, recently reactivated, as well as 10^th Special Forces Group (Abn) and 4^th Infantry Division].

This may seem to be “light,” in terms of targets, and there is a reason for this: they want to take the land and resources, not irradiate them into uselessness.

3. The invasion begins with Special Forces, followed by airborne units and then conventional forces.

The Special Forces units of the invading nations will have already been inserted weeks earlier by drops, by sea, or allowed to reach their destinations in a clandestine fashion disguised as civilians and traveling from different locations, separately. Those special units that will be utilized on the initial invasion (for strike missions against targets of varying degrees of importance, such as generators and hydroelectric plants) will be held at the line of departure on a leash until the attack begins.

When the EMP renders a “lights out scenario” it will probably occur at night, and immediately afterward will come drops of airborne troops and Special Forces assets. These will be shock troops to secure areas assigned until the main bodies come ashore.

4. Areas of Responsibility:

The Chinese will take the entire West Coast, the Russians will take Alaska and drive southward, securing the coastline for their naval assets and taking control of the pipeline (which neither side will bomb or irradiate). The Russians will either halt at the southeastern corner of Alaska, or they will drive downward through Canada until they can perch themselves just across the border on the state lines of Washington, Idaho, and Montana. The Russians will also mount an invasion on the East Coast, bypassing “hot spots” of irradiated cities previously mentioned in the initial nuclear strikes.

Later the two nations will coordinate for their drives into the interior. Meanwhile the armies of Venezuela, Bolivia, Nicaragua, and Cuba will make their way into the unguarded underbelly of the United States into Texas and the Border States via Mexico. Their objective will be to seize the cities of the Gulf of Mexico. Airborne and Special Forces units of their respective countries, along with the Chinese and Russians, will aid them: all of these will be inserted into the interior.

Their targets to seize and occupy will include Indianapolis, IN (the central railway “hub” of the entire U.S.), and New Orleans, LA (the critical port city where the Mississippi river empties into the Gulf of Mexico; critical for shipping and transport).

5. The Russians will amass submarine assets in the Atlantic with secondary nuclear targets if needed.

At this point, it is worth mentioning that all U.S. naval assets abroad, such as carrier groups, will be nuked. The attackers have the advantage of no nuclear reprisals being the policy of the Obama administration when the EMP is initially delivered. There are several reasons for the limited nature of the nuclear strikes.

Firstly, the West Coast would be subdued without damaging the Imperial Valley, the breadbasket of the U.S. that produces almost 1/5 of the fresh, domestic produce in America. In addition, these nations do not want to irradiate the Midwest due to the corn and wheat, as well as the cattle industry and other segments of domestic food production.

With the EMP, there will be a 24 – 48 hour window of almost stultifying confusion that will lead to semi-paralysis. There are many cities (especially the ports) that will be kept intact due to the desire of these nations to take our resources and ship them by rail to the ports and then back to their home countries, minus a percentage to upkeep the foreign troops. This follows Sun Tzu’s principle of resupplying your troops with the enemy’s supplies and provisions.

In the next article, we will cover what areas of the U.S. hold what particular interests for invaders, and outline what the U.S. responses and courses of action will be, from both a military (active duty and national guard) and civilian perspective.

Surprised? Belgian Government Knew Terror Attack Was Coming

On the surface, there really isn’t anything mysterious about Tuesday’s terrorist attack in Brussels. Belgium carried out a small bombing campaign against ISIS last year, and roughly 100 of their military personnel remain in the Middle East in advisory roles. Couple that with the fact that Belgium has a sizeable migrant population from the Middle East, and many of their urban neighborhoods have become no go zones for the authorities, and it becomes shocking that an attack like this didn’t happen sooner.

The country is so out of control, that it has become a breeding ground for Islamic terror groups who use the country as a staging area for future attacks against Europe. In fact, the assailants who committed the brutal terrorist attack in Paris last November were originally based in Belgium.

So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that a terrorist attack was attempted in this country, and it isn’t first time this has happened. The only thing that’s unique about it this time around, is the scale of the devastation. What is surprising however, is the fact that the Belgian government couldn’t prevent this attack. According to some sources like Haaretz, Belgian authorities should have known this was coming.

The Belgian security services, as well as other Western intelligence agencies, had advance and precise intelligence warnings regarding the terrorist attacks in Belgium on Tuesday, Haaretz has learned.

The security services knew, with a high degree of certainty, that attacks were planned in the very near future for the airport and, apparently, for the subway as well.

Despite the advance warning, the intelligence and security preparedness in Brussels, where most of the European Union agencies are located, was limited in its scope and insufficient for the severity and immediacy of the alert.

And that’s not all. Turkey’s President recently said something along similar lines.

Belgium had been notified of the terrorist links of one of the suicide bombers involved in the deadly Brussels attacks when he was deported from Turkey last year, according to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The Belgian citizen was detained in Turkey’s southeastern Gaziantep province, which borders Syria, in July of 2015, and was subsequently deported, Erdogan said.

“One of the attackers in Brussels is an individual we detained in Gaziantep in June 2015 and deported. We reported the deportation to the Belgian Embassy in Ankara on July 14, 2015, but he was later set free,” Erdogan said, as cited by Reuters.

“Belgium ignored our warning that this person is a foreign fighter,” he added.

Similar accusations were hurled at the Belgian government following the Paris terror attack. They had all the intel they needed to foil the terrorists, but completely bungled their counter-terror efforts. For many of you reading this, I’m sure alarm bells are ringing in your head. You may be wondering if a conspiracy of some kind is afoot. It almost seems too convenient for Belgium to repeatedly drop the ball on these attacks.

However, it’s just as likely that Belgian authorities are simply incompetent. That’s certainly what many U.S. intelligence officials believe.

News of Tuesday’s attack was met in some parts of Washington with resigned frustration.

“There was only so much we could do to help,” one official explained to The Daily Beast.

“Belgium has been stepping up the amount of people they’re devoting to intelligence and law enforcement but they’re playing catch-up and we’re seeing the terrible results of that today,” Rep. Adam Schiff, the senior Democrat on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, said on MSNBC.

Indeed, an official said there were warnings as recent as this weekend.

A frustrated U.S. intelligence official bemoaned the state of the counterterrorism apparatus in Belgium and across Europe.

“Even with the EU in general, there’s an infiltration of jihadists that’s been happening for two decades. And now they’re just starting to work on this. When we have to contact these people or send our guys over to talk to them, we’re essentially talking with people who are—I’m just going to put it bluntly—children. They are not pro-active, they don’t know what’s going on. They’re in such denial. It’s such a frightening thing to admit their country is being taken over.”

CLAIM: Governments Had Prior Knowledge of #Brussels Attack, Did Nothing

(ANTIMEDIA) Brussels, Belgium — A startling allegation concerning Brussels emerged on Wednesday: according to Haaretz, Belgian and Western intelligence agencies had “advance and precise” knowledge about the attacks, which claimed at least 31 lives. Haaretz reported:
“The security services knew, with a high degree of certainty, that attacks were planned in the very near future for the airport and, apparently, for the subway as well.”

Though the news outlet does not reveal its sources’ names, the allegation mirrors similar reports that authorities knew attacks were imminent.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had warned on Friday that terror attacks in Europe would likely be forthcoming, specifically naming Brussels as a possible location.

“There is no reason why the bomb that exploded in Ankara cannot explode in Brussels, in any other European city,” Erdoğan stated during a speech to commemorate a famous World War I battle in Canakkale. It should be noted it’s possible he mentioned Brussels to make an analogy, as Ankara is Turkey’s capital city and Brussels is the de facto capital of the E.U.

Regardless, mounting reports indicate a number of strange coincidences surrounding the Brussels attacks.

“One of the attackers in Brussels is an individual we detained in Gaziantep in June 2015 and deported,” stated Erdoğan, who did not name the specific attacker in question. “We reported the deportation to the Belgian Embassy in Ankara on July 14, 2015, but he was later set free.”

He added, “Despite our warnings that this person was a foreign terrorist fighter, Belgium could not establish any links with terrorism.”
An unnamed official from the Turkish president’s office later claimed the deported attacker was Ibrahim El Bakraoui.

Ibrahim and his brother Khalid El Bakraoui have been named by Belgian authorities for carrying out the airport attack with a third attacker, Najim Laachraoui, who remains the subject of an extensive manhunt. Laachraoui could be seen accompanying the two brothers in airport surveillance footage, but managed to flee the scene after the bombs went off. According to Haaretz, Laachraoui “created the explosives vests used by the bombers” — and thus bears particular concern for authorities.

Erdoğan has waged an aggressive, relentless, and often controversial battle with the Kurds, who are seeking to establish an independent state. After the attacks in Brussels, Erdoğan — who has been accused of working in concert with Daesh (ISIL) — attempted to appear sympathetic with the victims in a written statement:

“The heinous attacks in Brussels have reiterated that terror cannot be a method of struggle for freedom, and once again underlined the need for the common struggle against all types of terror.”

Terrorism is a fact of life.

The political causes and effects of it are complex, and the reaction is often used in politically expedient ways. In other words, the default is to use fear to sell an agenda – perhaps for war, security measures, diplomatic pressure.

Regardless, the chances of being caught up in the scene of an attack is very low.

But if you do find yourself in such a situation, here are some strategies to maximize your chances of survival, avoid disaster, fight back or flee and hopefully help other would-be victims get out of the way.

Hone your skills of assessment and situational awareness to make quick life-or-death decisions and avoid at all costs becoming a victim or statistic. Obviously police, SWAT and/or other forces won’t be there until after the fact, once all the victims have been killed or injured. Individuals must do something while they can.

If an attacker shows up on scene, your first response should be to get out of his line of vision and avoid the assailants ability to lock eyes with and target you.

If armed, consider the reality of the situation (hopefully from cover) to decide whether or not it is your fight – quickly, but with good judgement. Sometimes it is simply better to walk away, but if you are in a position to stop a shooter and save other lives, then it may be the right decision.

Meanwhile, some police are now being trained to take out active threats…wait for it… without waiting for back-up to arrive. This is a good sign that things are turning back towards common sense, and perhaps our civilization has a chance:

No strategy will be foolproof in every situation, but this kind of training can improve your chances if the worst happens unexpectedly.

How to Dress to Avoid Suspicion, Blend In During a Crisis: “Be a Grey Man”

Survival is all about blending in.

If you stand out, you could become like the unhammered nail, begging for unwanted attention.

Whether you are carrying concealed or attempting to negotiate your way through a post-apocalyptic SHTF scenario, take notice that you don’t appear “militaristic” or tactical, as it will work against you.

Mark Twain long ago observes that “clothes make the man” – and the last man you want to be in an emergency scenario is a conspiracy theorist, an obvious doomsday prepper or an overzealous gun-toting idiot who beams controversy and strange looks wherever he goes.

Camouflauge fatigues, “fishing” vests and militia-gear will all work against your efforts, and put an exclamation mark over you while interacting with whatever remains of society, and potentially put a spotlight on your prepping efforts, your stores or retreats, and deflate your hard work to survive.

The last thing you want to do is look like someone who wants a fight, someone who could be stolen from or someone who could become a target or mark.

TheOl1911 explains his philosophy on finding common and even “trendy” clothing with muted colors and enough style to pass the “sniff test” that also offers advantages for concealed carry and tactical preparedness. There’s no one right answer here – but there are certainly wrong ones.

Author Jeremiah Johnson recommends in his Green Beret’s Guide:

Cargo pants. These are preferred because of what you can stash in them. You can hold an infinite combination of gear in them…a polar-tech cap and a balaclava, a “drive-on” (do) rag – the o.g. Army cravat. You can carry shooting gloves (leather for all-weather) and ear plugs (radians do tell!). With all of these things in the cargoes, there is still plenty of room for the main function: when you change your mags or speed loaders, you can shove the empties in your cargo pockets.

Loosely fitting clothing will break up the outline of your body. Also, remember all of the caps and do-rags I mentioned before? A quick disguise is where you find it; need I say more. An old Russian saying: “Do not be a white crow among black crows or you’ll be pecked to death!” Make sure that you blend in as best as you can. Earth tones in your dress if you have to dee-dee into the woods. Balance your tones with the discretion of common sense. Do not try to be a walking Realtree monster right next to downtown city hall.

Blend in and be inconspicuous; be the “gray” man in the crowd.

Police and most trained marksmen know the techniques to spot someone carrying concealed, and otherwise looking shifty. Tell-tale signs of behavior, including subconsciously checking pockets, and changes in the gait, shifting weight to one side, or uneven clothing (from the weight of the weapon in a pocket) are all give away to the professionals. You’d do best to know them, too, so you can spot others, and avoid giving yourself away.

Be aware of how your behavior can give you away, and dress to blend in with the local population. The styles will change depending upon what part of the country you live in, and whether or not you live in or near a city, or out in the countryside.

Instead, you should have the “uniform” of average clothing and accessories for your area, so that no one would notice you in a crowd, and few would remember you after the fact based upon your demeanor and any “give away” actions.
